172-9391     Unprogrammed Electronic Control Module    WinFlash is used to load a new flash software file into the machine electronic control modules (ECM) that are listed in Table 1. Certain conditions must be met before one of the ECM's listed in Table 1 will accept this new flash software file:
The keyswitch must be ON for all applications.
The engine must be OFF for all applications.Table 2 shows a product-family breakdown of additional conditions which must be met before a machine ECM will accept the new flash software file.

( 1 ) This only applies when updating software. A new ECM cannot be flashed with premium ARC software unless equivalent premium software is installed.
( 2 ) This only applies when updating software. A new ECM cannot be flashed with premium IBC software unless equivalent premium software is installed.
