Modification Procedure
Remove the hood assembly.Reference: Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, RENR3983, "Hood Remove" for more information on this topic.
Remove the battery and the battery box on both sides.

Radiator Guard Assembly (BJ) Two bosses
Remove the existing bosses on the radiator guard assembly.

(13) Location of Plates (BK) Weld the entire left edge. (BL) Weld the entire right edge. (BM) Weld the entire bottom edge. (BN) Weld the entire top edge. (BP) Weld inside the old hole.

Weld the additional plates (13) and gussets (14) to the new hood assembly.
Protect the radiators for the engine and for the power train.

Weld the additional bracket assemblies (17) to the radiator guard.

Remove the existing bracket from the battery box on both sides.

Weld the new bracket assemblies (18) to the battery box on both sides.
Install the battery box and the battery on both sides.

Install the newly designed mount on the battery box on both sides. Torque bolts (3) and (7) to 55 10 N m (40.57 7.38 lb ft).

(CR) Ensure that the bracket is not interfering with the guard after assembly.
Install the new hood assembly on the machine with the newly designed mount. Torque bolt (10) to 55 10 N m (40.57 7.38 lb ft). Refer to Illustration 19 for attachment to the battery box and to illustration 16 for attachment to the guard assembly. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, RENR3983, "Hood Install" for more information on this topic.
Ensure that there is a minimum of a 1.5 mm gap between the bottom of the hood assembly and the top of the main frame.
