Walk-Around Inspection
For your own safety and maximum service life of the vehicle, make a thorough walk-around inspection before mounting the machine to start the engine.Look around and under the machine for such items as loose or missing bolts, trash buildup, oil, coolant or fuel leaks. Inspect the condition and inflation of the tires.Remove any trash and debris. Adjust tire inflation as needed. Have any necessary repairs made, loose connections and parts tightened to their specified torques and any missing parts replaced before starting the engine or operating the machine. 1 Inspect lights for broken bulbs and lenses. Check for loose or frayed wires.2 Inspect radiator guard for trash buildup.3 Inspect cooling system for leaks - trash buildup.4 Inspect engine precleaner for dirt buildup. 5 Inspect engine compartment for leaks - trash buildup.6 Inspect the condition and cleanliness of the steps and handholds. Inspect the Rollover Protective Structure (ROPS) for damage.7 Inspect differentials under machine for leaks.8 Inspect hydraulic system for leaks. Check for loose hose connections. 9 Inspect final drives for leaks.10 Be sure covers and guards are firmly in place. Inspect for damage. 11 Inspect tires for damage and proper inflation.12 Inspect front scrapers. 13 Inspect operator's compartment for cleanliness.14 Inspect instrument panel for broken gauges or indicator lights. Check the crankcase oil level. The level should be above the ADD mark on the ENGINE STOPPED side of the dipstick. Observe the hydraulic system oil level. Maintain the oil level above the ADD mark in the sight gauge. Inspect the precleaner. Empty and clean the cup, if necessary. Observe the coolant level. Maintain the coolant within 1 cm (1/2 inch) of the bottom of the fill pipe. Measure the tire pressure. See the topic "Tire Inflation Information". Observe the fuel level. Fill the fuel tank after each day of operation to help prevent condensation in the tank.
