Introduction
This Special Instruction details the installation of a EPROM. The 188-2928 Electrical Display Group is now replaced by 187-1599 Electrical Display Group . Installation of the EPROM
Do not use a screwdriver to remove the EPROM cover. Damage to the display will result.

Grasp both sides of cover (1). Remove the cover from the back of the display.

Rear of the display without the cover
Remove carrier (3) from the display by carefully grasping two tabs (4) at the top and the bottom. Then, remove the carrier.
In order to install the EPROM, match the notches of the cavity with the carrier. Insert the EPROM until the top of the carrier is flush with the cavity. Installation for the cover can be found in steps 4 and 5.
Reinstall the cover.
For installation, operation, and troubleshooting instructions refer to Special Instruction, REHS0193, "Caterpillar Information Display".
