Some 824G Wheel Tractors and 980G Wheel Loaders may have interference between the right side service door hinge and the engine oil fill cap. The lower hinge bolts may interfere with the cap as the rear hood is raised. The interference may dislodge the oil fill tube cap.Solution:
A production fix is under investigation. An interim solution is to remove about 10 mm (.4 in) of the lower hinge bolts and/or bend the oil fill tube slightly (insuring that there is no interference with the engine "sound wall").COPYRIGHT 1997 CATERPILLAR ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
