Switch Electrical Specifications
Voltage that is applied to the switches by the ECM will not exceed 13 VDC under normal conditions. The plating on the contacts should not corrode. The plating on the contacts should not oxidize. Gold plated contacts are recommended. The current draw through the switches may not exceed 5.0 mA.The contact chatter is the momentary opening and closing of the contact points. The contact chatter should not exceed 100 milliseconds in duration. The switches should not open and the switches should not close due to vibration or shock that is normally found in the marine environment.The ECM and the internal pull up resistors of the display module force the respective input to an internal pull up voltage when a switch contact is opened or the harness has an open circuit. Closure of OEM installed switches must complete the circuit to the - battery bus bar.Voltage Thresholds that are Measured at the ECM

When any of the switch contacts are closed, the voltage drop through the switch circuit must be less than 0.9 VDC. This measurement should be taken at the respective control input and the negative battery input to the ECM. This measurement includes the following values:
Ground potential differences
Voltage drop across the switch
Voltage drop across the wiring harnessVoltage in High
When any of the switch contacts are open, the resistance between the respective control input and the negative battery input to the ECM should not be less than 5,000 Ohms. Potential paths for leakage may exist within the following components:
