1. Remove plate (1) from the counterweight. Use a 988 or 992 Wheel Loader to remove the counterweight. The excavator must be on a level surface to remove the counterweight. 2. Fasten cables (2) to the wheel loader and counterweight. Use tooling (A) to prevent damage to the cables.
Cables (2) must have the capacity to lift 17000 lb. (7711 kg).
3. Remove bolts (3). 4. Remove plates (4). 5. Use one of the bolts that held plate (4) in place to remove pins (6). Remove pins (6) from each side of the counterweight.6. Remove counterweight (5). Weight is 17000 lb. (7711 kg).Install Counterweight
1. Put counterweight (1) in position on the machine. 2. Install pins (2). 3. Install plate (4) and bolts (3).4. Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 25 10 lb.ft. (33.9 13.6 N m). Lower the counterweight on to pins (2). Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 1300 120 lb.ft. (1762 162.7 N m). 5. Remove the cables from the counterweight and install plate (5).
