Use the following information in order to fabricate the new plates. Fabricate the new plates from steel that has a yield strength of 207 - 450 MPa (30000 - 65000 psi).
(A) 80 mm (3.2 inch)
(B) 65.4 mm (2.6 inch)
(C) 14.6 mm (0.6 inch)
(D) 25 mm (0.98 inch)
(E) 95 mm (3.7 inch)
(F) The diameter of the hole is 10.5 mm (0.4 inch). Drill the hole to a depth of 30 mm (1.2 inch). By using a M12 X 1.75 - 6H tap, thread the hole to a depth of 20 mm (0.8 inch).Use the following procedure in order to install the new plates.
Refer to the disassembly and assembly module for your machine. Raise the body of the truck. Install the truck body retaining cables.
Mark the position of the two 8X-9888 Bracket As on the frame assembly. Remove the two 8X-9888 Bracket As from the frame assembly.
Prepare the two locations so that you can weld the new blocks into position.
Refer to the above listed special instruction for the necessary information for the welding procedure.

Position the two new 178-7022 Plates on the frame assembly in the position of the two former bracket assemblies. The holes in the new blocks will match the holes in the clamps. Position the center of the holes in the blocks downward from the top of the frame assembly 80 3 mm (3.15 0.12 inch) (A) .
Use a welding electrode that meets one of the following standards of the AWS.
AWS A5.18
AWS A5.20
AWS A5.17
Apply a 6 mm (0.24 inch) fillet weld (W1) to the short sides of the blocks. The weld should penetrate 1.5 mm (0.06 inch).
Refer to the disassembly and assembly module for your machine. Raise the body of the truck. Remove the truck body retaining cables.
