Tool (A) can not be fastened to the flywheel. Hold the flywheel level with tool (A) and the hoist when it is removed from the guide bolts (B). If the flywheel is not held level, it can come off of tool (A) and cause bodily injury.
2. Install tool (A) and remove the remainder of the flywheel bolts. Remove flywheel (2). Weight of the flywheel is 44 kg (96 lb.). 3. If necessary, remove gear (3) from flywheel (2).Install Flywheel
1. If a replacement of baffle (1) is needed, push the new baffle on until the forward edge is in contact with the flywheel housing. 2. Heat gear (3) to a maximum temperature of 315°C (600°F) and install it on the flywheel (2) so the chamfer of the gear teeth will be toward the starter pinion wheel the flywheel is installed. 3. Install tooling (A) in the end of the crankshaft.
Tool (B) can not be fastened to the flywheel. Hold the flywheel level with tool (B) and the hoist when it is installed on the guide bolts (A). If the flywheel is not held level it can come off of tool (B) and cause bodily injury.
4. Put flywheel (2) in position with tool (B). 5. Put 5P960 Multipurpose Type Grease on the threads of bolts (4) and install the bolts to hold the flywheel. Remove tooling (A) and install the remainder of bolts (4).
