TUBE AS 2803025 - Caterpillar

1. Remove twelve bolts (1) from brake guard bracket (3). Remove bracket then twist brake guard (2) around axle frame to remove it. 2. Loosen bolts (6) from the end of the brake head.3. Install a 1/2"-13 NC forged eyebolt in pin (5). Use a pry bar to pull pin out far enough to remove inside brake lining.4. Push outside pin away from disc (4) far enough to remove outside lining.5. Remove the brake linings.Install Wheel Brake Linings
1. Push the brake pistons into the brake. This gives clearance for the new brake linings. 2. Put linings (2) in position on the pins (1) and (5) in the brake. 3. Push pins (1) and (5) in but do not make contact with disc (4).4. Check the distance between pins and disc with a feeler gauge. This distance must not be less than 0.76 mm (.030 in). Move the pins in or out to give the correct clearance.5. Tighten the bolts (3) that hold the pins.6. Make several applications of the brake to give the brake piston a good seat against the brake linings. 7. Install brake guard (8). Install brake guard bracket (7) with six bolts (6). Install six bolts (9) that hold bracket to axle frame. Tighten bolts (9) to a torque of 305.1 33.9 N m (225 25 lb ft).
