Information:
Change filters earlier if the power train oil filter indicator comes on while operating.Machine level, all equipment lowered with slight down pressure, TRANSMISSION and BRAKE LOCK LEVER engaged and engine stopped. 1. Remove cover mounting bolts. 2. Remove cover and filter assembly. 3. Remove retaining nut and screen. 4. Remove and discard two filter elements.5. Wash cover and screen in clean non-flammable solvent. 6. Inspect seals on cover and top of tank. Use new seals if necessary. If stud was loosened during removal of the retaining nut, it will be necessary to tighten stud to 40 5 lb ft (55 7 N m).7. Install two new filter elements.8. Install clean screen and retaining nut.9. Install cover and filter assembly. Tighten cover mounting bolts to 32 5 lb ft (45 7 N m).(17)Hydraulic System Filters
Use caution when draining oil or changing filters. Hot oil or components can cause personal injury if they contact skin.

Reset filter indicator if plunger was in the up position.(18)Cooling System - Add Corrosion Inhibitor
Always inspect cooling system with engine stopped.Inhibitor contains alkali, avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.Remove filler cap slowly to relieve pressure. Steam can cause personal injury.
Machine level, all equipment lowered with slight down pressure, TRANSMISSION and BRAKE LOCK LEVER engaged and engine stopped. First 500 SERVICE HOURS OR 3 MONTHS on a new or reconditioned machine: Add enough Caterpillar Corrosion Inhibitor, or equivalent, so that the cooling system will have a 3% concentration of inhibitor. Add 14 pints (6.5 litres) of inhibitor to this cooling system. EVERY 500 SERVICE HOURS OR 3 MONTHS thereafter: Add 3.5 pints (1.5 litres) of Caterpillar Corrosion Inhibitor, or equivalent, to this cooling system. This will maintain the required 3% concentration of inhibitor.
Do not use Caterpillar Corrosion Inhibitor with Dowtherm 209 Coolant.
1. Loosen radiator cap slowly to relieve pressure, and remove filler cap. It may be necessary, to drain enough coolant to allow for the addition of corrosion inhibitor.2. Add Caterpillar Corrosion Inhibitor. See above for amount of inhibitor to add.3. Inspect filler cap gasket. Replace if damaged.4. Install radiator filler cap.(19)Engine Crankcase Breather
1. Loosen hose clamps and remove hose from breather cover. 2. Loosen bolt and remove cover. Observe condition of cover
