Remove the engine oil pan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pan - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure. Note: In order to remove the balancer safely, the engine must be removed from the machine. The engine should be mounted in a suitable stand and placed in the inverted position.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove plug (3) from Position (Y) in the cylinder block. Remove O-ring seal (4) from the plug.
Install Tooling (A) into the cylinder block in Position (Y).
Remove plug (2) from Position (X) in the front housing. Remove O-ring seal (1) from the plug.
Install Tooling (B) into the front housing in Position (X).
Remove bolts (8) from oil suction pipe (5).
Remove bolt (9) from oil suction pipe (5).
Remove oil suction pipe (5) from the cylinder block. Remove O-ring seal (10) from the oil suction pipe.
Movement of the counterweight can cause personal injury.
Install Tooling (C) in Position (Z) in order to prevent movement of the counterweights. Note: If Tooling (C) cannot be installed to the balancer, the crankshaft is not in the correct position.
Remove bolts (7).
Attach a suitable lifting device to balancer (6). Support the weight of balancer, the weight is approximately 15 kg (33 lb).
Use the suitable lifting device in order to remove the balancer from the cylinder block.
Do not remove dowels (11) unless the dowels are damaged.
