Installation Procedure

B     180-3034     Stand     1    Note: Make sure that the pin bores in the boom and the pin bores in the upper frame are clean and free of dirt and debris prior to installing the boom.
Install the sleeve bearings and the lip seals in the boom. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, "Boom Bearings and Seals - Remove and Install".
Apply a thin coat of 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease to the bores. Apply a thin coat of 5P-0960 Molybdenum Grease to the lip of the lip type seals.

Attach a hoist and a suitable lifting device to the boom. The weight of the boom is approximately 1590 kg (3500 lb).
Place the boom in position on the machine.

Install pin (12) into the boom. The weight of pin (12) is 60 kg (135 lb).
Install bolt (10) and washer (11) .

Attach four hydraulic hoses (7) to the bottom of the boom.
Install bar (8) and two bolts (9) that hold the hydraulic hoses in place.

Connect nine hoses (6) on the top of the boom.

Install bolt (5) and the nut on the storage box. Close the storage box.

Attach a hoist and a suitable lifting device to the boom. Raise the boom so that the boom is off of Tooling (B).
Raise Tooling (B) so that the boom is high enough to allow installation of the boom cylinder. Lower the boom onto Tooling (B) .
Install the boom cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, "Boom Cylinder - Remove and Install".
Install the stick. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, "Stick - Install".
Install the stick cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, "Stick Cylinder - Remove and Install".

Attach Tooling (A) to the boom guard.
Attach a hoist and a suitable lifting device to Tooling (A) .
Place the boom guard on the machine.

Install the bolt and the washer in pin assembly (3) .
Repeat step 19 for the remaining pin assembly.
Attach lubrication line (4) .

Install roller assembly (1), bolt (2) and the washer.
Repeat step 22 for the remaining roller assembly.
Remove the hoist and the lifting device.
