Information:
Pressure Air - 205 kPa (30 psi) Maximum
Direct air along the pleats inside and outside of filter element.Pressure Water - 280 kPa (40 psi) Maximum
Direct water along the pleats inside and outside of filter element.Detergent
Wash the element in warm water and nonsudsing household detergent.Inspecting the Elements
1. Inspect the filter elements after cleaning. Do not use a filter element with damaged pleats, gaskets or seals. 2. Wrap and store the clean filter elements in a clean, dry place.Clean Outside of Radiator Guard and Transmission Oil Cooler (if equipped)
Compressed air, high pressure water or steam can be used to remove dust, leaves and general debris from the radiator guard and transmission oil cooler. Clean as required by condition of radiator guard and transmission oil cooler. The use of compressed air is preferred. If engine overheats, remove the radiator guard and clean the outside of the radiator using compressed air, high pressure water or steam.Water Spray System
Check spray nozzle
1. Release travelling hook bars to position spray bar. 2. If the machine is equipped with a power spray system, position the nozzles so that they spray flat out onto the tire and their spray covers the full width of the tire. 3. If the spray from a nozzle is striking incorrectly, turn the nozzle until the spray is correct. An eighth of a turn is usually enough.Parking Brake
Check tension
1. Engage parking/secondary brake.2. To assure sufficient brake holding ability it should require approximately 45 kg (100 lb) of force to pull the lever back.To Adjust
1. Release the parking brake lever. 2. Turn knob clockwise to increase resistance or counterclockwise to decrease resistance.Fuses
Replace
If it is necessary to replace fuses frequently contact your Caterpillar dealer.
Fuses - They protect the electrical system from damage caused by overloaded circuits. Change a fuse if the element separates. If the element of a new fuse separates, have the circuit checked and repaired.
Always replace fuses with ones of the correct ampere rating to avoid electrical system damage.
Horn - 30A Brake Light (if equipped) - 9A Flood Light (if equipped) - 9A Head Lights (if equipped) - 9A Water Spray System (if equipped) - 9AScrapers
Clean
Wedge or block the machine to prevent unexpected movement before cleaning the scrapers. Failure to do so may cause personal injury or death.
Clean the scrapers by removing all dirt and debris. Compressed air or water can be used to clean the scrapers.Replace

1. Replace scrapers if damaged or worn.2. Remove bolts and install new scraper. Adjust so that the scraper touch evenly across the tire. Tighten the bolts.Wheel Nuts and Bolts
Check Torque
Torque the wheel bolts (front wheels) to 75 N m (55 lb ft).Torque the wheel nuts (rear wheels) to 165 N m (120 lb ft).Tires
Check Air Pressure
Refer to the chart in the "Operating Techniques" section for the correct tire pressures for each job condition.Fuel System
Purging the Fuel System of Air
1. Loosen the vent screw on mechanical governor.
