Seat Belt
Always check the condition of the seat belt and mounting hardware before operating the machine.Replace the seat belt at least once every three years, regardless of appearance. A date label, to determine the age of the belt, is sewn onto each belt.Inspect for worn or frayed webbing.Check for worn or damaged belt group. Replace the belt group if worn or damaged.Inspect the belt mounting hardware. Replace any damaged or worn hardware. Keep the mounting bolts tight.Seat Belt Adjustment
The seat belt is equipped with an automatic locking retractor. This retractor will lock if the belt is pulled or jerked after the belt is pulled out of the retractor.The buckle end of the seat belt is equipped with a comfort ride sleeve. This sleeve will allow the operator limited movement with the seat belt fastened. Pull seat belt (1) out of the retractor in a continuous motion.Fasten seat belt catch (2) into buckle (3). Check to be sure seat belt is placed low across lap/mid-section of the operator.The retractor will adjust the belt length and lock in place. The comfort ride sleeve will allow the operator limited movement.To Release the Seat Belt
Push the release button on the buckle to release the seat belt. The seat belt will automatically retract into the retractor.Seat Belt Extension
When using retractable seat belts, do not use seat belt extensions, or personal injury or death can result.The retractor system may or may not lock up depending on the length of the extension and the size of the person. If the retractor does not lock up, the seat belt will not retain the person.
Caterpillar's recommendation for extending a retractable seat belt is replace it with a nonretractable belt.Longer seat belts and extensions are available, when the seat belt is not of sufficient length for the operator.Contact any Caterpillar dealer for longer seat belt and seat belt extensions information.Mirror

Cab Doors
The cab door on the right side serves as an alternate exit. Release the latch and open the door.Open the door until it latches in the fully open position. Push down the lever, to release the cab door from the fully open position. Move the lock to unlock the cab door from inside.Window Operations
Lift latch (1) to slide the windows. Squeeze latch (2) to release window from the closed position.AM/FM/Cassette Radio (If Equipped)
If a radio other than one available from your Caterpillar dealer is installed, an in-line fuse must be provided. Failure to do so can damage the electrical system if an electrical short occurs in the radio circuit.
