In order to access the Configure screen, select the Setup button (5) on the Communicator Toolkit screen. Refer to Illustration 2 in Systems Operation, "Program Description". This information is typically set up during the initial installation. The information does not change unless changes are required. The FTP Download Folder path (1) is used in order to specify the location of the files that are downloaded by VIMS Communicator to the local network. The path of the file can be entered manually or the FTP Select button (2) can be used in order to find the location of the folder.VIMS Database Path
The VIMS Database Path (3) is used to set the location of the VIMS PC Database. The VIMS PC Database is used to build the list of parameters that can be selected in the Parameter Selection window. A VIMS PC Database that contains data from a data logger or an event recorder is required in order to select a parameter. This data must be "merged" into the VIMS PC Database for each model of machine. The path of the file can be entered manually, or else the VIMS Select button (4) can be used in order to find the location of the file.Machine ListTable
The Machine List table (6) is used in order to enter the information of each machine that is equipped with VIMS Communicator. The table contains the following information:Serial Number - This is the serial number of the machine.Equipment Number - This is the equipment number of the machine.IP Address - This is the IP address that is assigned to VIMS Communicator.MAC Address - This entry is optional. This is the MAC address that is assigned to VIMS Communicator.Discover Machines Button
Each Communicator on the network will have a unique IP address. Addresses that are unique could cause difficulties in determining an IP address that is connected to a specific machine. The Discover Machines button (5) builds the Machine List (6) by locating all of the Communicators on the network that have established communications.When you select the Discover Machines button, a message is sent to all of the devices that are on the local network. This message contains special formatting. When the message is recognized, VIMS Communicator responds with the current details. Note: The computer that is running Discover Machines must be on the same local network that is used by the radios. A "discovery" packet will be sent to every device on the local network.
