Keep engine speed low until the engine oil pressure alert indicator goes out. If the alert indicator does not go out within ten seconds, stop the engine and investigate the cause before starting again. Failure to do so can cause engine damage.
Do not increase the engine speed from low idle. Do not apply load to the engine during the first ten seconds of operation.
Check all other gauges and indicators. All gauges and indicators should show normal operation.
Operate the engine at low idle for at least five minutes in order to warm the oil. More than five minutes warm up time may be required when the machine is operated in low temperature conditions. Use this warm up time to help warm the hydraulic oil by operating the joystick control in order to raise and lower the boom.
