Setting "Depth" Of Cut
Use the depth gauge to determine cutting depth.Setting "Tilt" Of Cut
Use the tilt gauge to set desired tilt. (The pointer tip is the reference point. When the pointer tip aligns with the zero line the cutter will be vertical.)
The examples of cutting here mentioned are intended to be guidelines and information for general reference.
"Square Cut" Example (5 Pass)
Make three consecutive cuts with about a 5 cm (2") overlap. "Finish" the square by making two final passes in opposite directions and on each end of square. "Wedge Cut" Example (2 Pass)
Set desired tilt. When setting cutting depth keep outside edge of cutter matched with existing grade. Make 1st pass. Maintain desired tilt. Make 2nd pass matching grade of 1st pass with outside edge of cutter. "Wedge Cut" With Curb Or Obstruction (2 Pass)
Set desired tilt. When setting cutting depth - estimate depth needed to ensure 2nd pass will match existing grade. approx. 2.5 to 5 cm (1" to 2") depth; depending on tilt-more tilt deeper cut.) Make 1st pass. Maintain tilt. Make 2nd pass matching 1st pass grade and existing grade."Manhole Cut" Example
Turn both front and rear wheels as shown. (Min. cutting diameter is approx. 68.6 cm (27").) Use either front or rear wheels for steering while cutting. (Try practice cuts before making final cut.) For your safety, and the machines protection, allow 2.5 to 5 cm (1" to 2") of space between outside of cutter and manhole. This will give a margin of safety to avoid accidental contact with manhole.If a more accurate cut is desired, use a second man to guide the operator as the cut is made.
To prolong the cutter life, always keep the tractor parallel to the cut. To accomplish this the steer angle of the front and rear axle must be the same.
