AllThis discusses the recent introduction of the variable crimp machine, and the ability for Caterpillar dealerships to now service low pressure and medium pressure large hydraulic hoses and permanent couplings. Dealerships were previously only able to build hydraulic hoses 50.8 mm (2.0 inch) and smaller in inside diameter. The variable crimp machine has the capacity in order to handle hydraulic hoses as big as 88.9 mm (3.5 inch) in inside diameter. For the component, tooling, and technical information refer to HOS05-01, PELJ0481. Refer to table 1 for more information about the affected hose assemblies.This is available through the normal literature distribution system. The publication can also be found on the Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS).
