Remove the fan drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Drive - Remove".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Remove two bolts (1). Install Tooling (A).
Install a suitable lifting device on the vibration damper and pulley assembly. The weight of the vibration damper and pulley assembly is approximately 65 kg (145 lb).
Remove remaining bolts (1). Remove the vibration damper and pulley assembly.
Remove pulley (3) from vibration damper (2).
Remove Tooling (A) from the crankshaft.

Remove bolts (4) from adapter (5). Remove adapter (5) from vibration damper (2). Installation Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Thoroughly inspect the viscous damper for signs of leakage or for signs of a dented (damaged) case. Either of these conditions can cause the weight to make contact with the case. This can affect the viscous damper's operation.

Position adapter (5) in damper (2). Install bolts (4).

Install Tooling (A) in the crankshaft.
Install pulley (3) on vibration damper (2).
Install a suitable lifting device on the vibration damper and pulley assembly. The weight of the vibration damper and pulley assembly is approximately 65 kg (145 lb). Install vibration damper (2) and pulley (3) on Tooling (A).
Apply Tooling (B) to bolts (1). Install bolts (1).
Remove Tooling (A) and install remaining bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 270 40 N m (199 30 lb ft). End By:
Install the fan drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Drive - Install".
