Remove the air cleaner housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Cleaner Housing - Remove and Install".
Remove the auxiliary water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Auxiliary Water Pump - Remove".
Remove the flywheel. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Flywheel - Remove and Install".
Remove the crankshaft rear seal and the wear sleeve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Rear Seal and the Wear Sleeve - Remove".
Remove the air starting motor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Starting Motor - Remove and Install".
Attach the engine to Tooling (B) .

Remove the exhaust crossover manifold. Remove bolts (1) , (2) , (3) , (4) , (5) , and (6) from the oil pan.

Loosen oil pan bolts (7) and allow the pan to drop about 6.4 mm (0.25 inch) for some clearance.

Remove cover (8) .

Fasten Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to flywheel housing (11) .
Remove two bolts (10) and install Tooling (C) . Remove bolts (9) and the rest of bolts (10) . Remove flywheel housing (11) . The weight of flywheel housing (11) is approximately 86 kg (190 lb).

Remove gasket (12) .
