(28)Engine Crankcase And Flywheel Clutch
Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
Oil should be warm, machine level, parking brake applied, equipment lowered to the ground and engine stopped. 1. Remove crankcase filler plug. 2. Remove drain plug and allow oil to drain. 3. Open clutch compartment drain valve. Allow oil to drain. 4. Remove filter drain plug. Allow oil to drain. 5. Loosen filter housing bolt and remove housing and filter. 6. Clean filter housing, base and drain plug. Install new element in housing.7. Install new seal. Install housing and element on base. Install plug. 8. Close clutch compartment valve.9. Clean and install crankcase drain plug. 10. Fill crankcase to FULL on engine stopped side of dipstick. See REFILL CAPACITIES. 11. Install filler plug. Start and run engine for 2 minutes. 12. Measure oil with engine running. Maintain oil level to FULL mark on engine running side of dipstick.(29)Engine Crankcase Breather
1. Disconnect breather hose. 2. Loosen mounting bolt and remove breather. Wash breather in clean non-flammable solvent. 3. Inspect seal. Replace if necessary. 4. Install breather and connect hose.(30)Power Control Shaft And Worm Gear Housing
1. Filler plug is located to right of clutch pedal. Remove plug. 2. Oil should be visible in filler elbow. Add lubricant if necessary. Install plug.(31)Wheel Lean

Always inspect cooling system with engine stopped.Remove filler cap slowly to relieve pressure. Steam can cause personal injury.Inhibitor contains alkali, avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.

Do not use Caterpillar Corrosion Inhibitor with Dowtherm 209 coolant.
At first 500 SERVICE HOURS OR 3 MONTHS on a new or reconditioned machine: Add enough Caterpillar Corrosion Inhibitor, or equivalent, so that the cooling system will have a 3% concentration of inhibitor. Add 2.75 pints (1.3 litres) of inhibitor to this cooling system.EVERY 500 SERVICE HOURS, OR 3 MONTHS thereafter: Add 1 pint (.50
