2 1 164-4187 Piston Ring Install the intermediate piston ring with the side marked "Up-2" toward top of the piston. Orient the violet color stripe face to the right of the piston ring end gaps.
Clearance between the ends of the intermediate piston ring is 0.770 0.125 mm (0.0303 0.0049 inch).
3 1 238-0294 Piston Ring The ends of the oil control piston ring should be at a distance of 180 degrees from the ring end gap when the oil control piston ring is assembled. The blue color stripe faces to the right or left of the piston ring end gap.
Clearance between the ends of the new oil control piston ring is 0.55 0.15 mm (0.022 0.006 inch).
Width of groove in new piston body assembly for piston ring is 4.030 0.010 mm (0.1587 0.0004 inch).
Thickness is 3.980 0.010 mm (0.1567 0.0004 inch).
- - - After the piston rings have been installed, rotate the piston rings so that the end gaps are 120 degrees apart from each other.
4 1 524-5565 Piston Pin Thoroughly lubricate the piston pin with clean engine oil before the piston pin is inserted into the piston body assembly and the rod assembly.
Outside diameter is 59.975 0.005 mm (2.3612 0.0002 inch).
Inside diameter is 25.4 0.3 mm (1 0.01 inch).
Length is 89.8 0.2 mm (3.54 0.01 inch).
Bore in the new piston body assembly for the piston pin is 60.095 0.010 mm (2.3659 0.0004 inch).
5 2 250-2940 Pin Retainer Install the pin retainer with the gap at the bottom of the piston as shown in Illustration 1.
6 1 150-1156 Special Bolt Torque to 25 6 N m (221 53 lb in).
A - - Thoroughly lubricate the entire piston with clean engine oil prior to assembly into the cylinder block.
