Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
Park the machine on a flat, level surface. Lower the work tool to the ground. Chock the wheels in order to keep the machine from rolling when the center drive shaft is removed.

Remove bolts (4) from center drive shaft (1).
Use a prybar to separate spider (2) from yoke assembly (3).

Remove bolts (7) from center drive shaft (1).
Use a prybar to separate spider (6) from yoke assembly (5).
Use two people to remove center drive shaft (1) from the machine. The weight of the center drive shaft is approximately 23 kg (50 lb). Installation Procedure
When the center drive shaft is installed, it must be installed in phase with the front and rear drive shafts. Serious component damage could occur. Be certain that all the joint group, all the yokes, and all the lubricating fittings are aligned.

Position the center drive shaft in the machine. The weight of the center drive shaft is approximately 23 kg (50 lb).
Connect spider (6) to yoke assembly (5) and to center drive shaft (1).
Install bolts (7). The torque for bolts (7) is 60 10 N m (44 7 lb ft).

Connect spider (2) to yoke assembly (3) and to center drive shaft (1).
Install bolts (4). The torque for bolts (4) is 60 10 N m (44 7 lb ft).
Lubricate the center drive shaft. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure. End By:
