Remove the top two bolts (53) from input transfer gear case (52).
Install Tooling (C) into the top two threaded holes in input transfer gear case (52).

Disconnect all harness assembly clips (54) that attach harness assembly (50) to the transmission. Disconnect harness assembly (50).

Disconnect tube assembly (55). Disconnect hose assembly (56).

Disconnect speed sensors (58) from harness assembly (50). Disconnect level sensor (59) from harness assembly (50). Disconnect all harness clips (57) and set harness assembly (50) out of the way.

Disconnect hose assemblies (60), (61), (62), and (63).

Attach Tooling (E) and a suitable lifting device to center drive shaft (66) in order to support center drive shaft (66). The weight of center drive shaft (66) is approximately 113 kg (250 lb).
Remove bolts (65) that attach center drive shaft (66) to output yoke (64).
Retract center drive shaft (66) and allow center drive shaft (66) to rest on suitable cribbing.

Disconnect hose assembly (67) from the bottom of the output transfer gear case.

Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (C) at the rear of transmission (68). Attach Tooling (D) and a suitable lifting device to the front lifting brackets on transmission (68). Attach Tooling (D) onto the suitable lifting device of Tooling (C). The combined weight of transmission (68) and the transfer gears is approximately 2660 kg (5865 lb).

Right Side
Remove bolts (69) and bolt (70) from both sides of the transmission.

Left Side
Use Tooling (C), Tooling (D), and the suitable lifting device in order to slightly raise the transmission and the transfer gears off the mounts. Refer to Illustration 30.
Remove bolts (71).
Use two people in order to remove mounting bracket (72) from the output transfer gear case. The weight of mounting bracket (72) is approximately 32 kg (70 lb).
Repeat Steps 39 and 40 for the opposite side of the machine.

Remove four bolts (73).
Use two people in order to remove mounting bracket (74) from the input transfer gear case. The weight of mounting bracket (74) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb).
Repeat Steps 42 and 43 for the opposite side of the machine.

Use Tooling (C), Tooling (D), and the suitable lifting device in order to remove transfer gears and transmission (68). Adjust the angle of Tooling (D) as transfer gears and transmission (68) are being removed.
