The former seals will no longer be serviced. The former seals could not be used when it was necessary to install a wear sleeve on the crankshaft because of flange wear.
The new 115-4109 Seal Group (dry) is a direct replacement for the former 7C-3570 Seal (dry). The new 115-4120 Seal Group (wet) is a direct replacement for the former 7E-7589 Seal (wet). The former 7C-7980 Wear Sleeve, which had been released for use when crankshaft flange wear was evident, has been canceled.
The new 115-4109 and 115-4120 Seal Groups are similar to other combination seal and sleeve groups that require special handling and installation procedures. A Special Instruction is being released to address that subject. Service manuals will also be changed to reflect the installation of the new combination seal and wear sleeve groups. Tooling for installation of the new seal groups remains the same.
