Removal Procedure
Start By:
Install the retaining cable. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Truck Body Retaining Cable - Remove and Install".
Release the pressure from the air system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Tanks (Brake) - Purge".
In order to prevent possible personal injury, release the air pressure from the air tank before disconnecting any components of the air system.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.Note: Put identification marks on all hose assemblies and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to prevent contaminants from entering the system.

Disconnect pressure protection valve (1) from relay valve (2).
Disconnect the following hose assemblies from relay valve (2): (4), (6) and (8).
Remove two bolts (3), the nuts and washers in order to remove relay valve (2).
Disconnect hose assembly (5) from relay valve (12).
Disconnect hose assemblies (7) and (9) from relay valve (12).
Disconnect hose assembly (11).
Remove two bolts (10), the washers and nuts in order to remove relay valve (12).
If necessary, remove eight elbows. Installation Procedure
Note: Apply 5P-3413 Pipe Sealant to the threads of all of the elbows prior to installation.

If eight elbows were removed, install the eight elbows.
Use two bolts (10), the washers and nuts in order to install relay valve (12).
Connect hose assembly (11) to relay valve (12).
Connect hose assemblies (7) and (9) to relay valve (12).
Connect hose assembly (5) to relay valve (12).
Install two bolts (3), the washers and nuts in order to install relay valve (2).
Connect the following hose assemblies to relay valve (2): (4), (5) and (6).
Connect pressure protection valve (1) to relay valve (2).
Charge the pressure in the air tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7173, "Starting with an External Air Supply" for the correct procedure. End By:
Disconnect the retaining cable. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Truck Body Retaining Cable - Remove and Install".
Remove the wheel chocks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Chock (Front and Rear) - Remove and Install".
