1 Remove pin (1) and handle (2). Remove screws (3) and handle assembly (4). Some machines have a lever in the door latch that is fastened to the shaft of the handle assembly. If handle assembly (4) cannot be removed, see Step 2. If a spacer is in position between handle assembly (4) and the door, it should be removed as it is no longer needed. Also, some machines may have a latch assembly on the inside of the door with the handle inside the assembly. Then only outside handle (4) needs to be removed. 2 Remove cover (5) from the latch assembly. Remove pin (6) from lever (7) and remove handle (4). Remove spacer (8), if used with the former handle. 3 Find length (A) from the former handle. If the shaft cannot be measured, install 6V2714 Handle Assembly in the door and measure the length needed to install the inside handle. Cut the shaft of the new handle assembly to the desired length, if necessary. Remove any sharp edges. See Step 4 for dimension (B). 4 Measure dimension (B) from the former handle. If dimension (B) cannot be measured, put 6V2714 Handle Assembly (9) in position in the door. Put handle (2) in position on the shaft so there is a space of 3.2 (0.125") between (2) and the latch. Make a mark on the shaft through hole (10) in handle (2) for the pin location, remove inner handle (2). Remove handle (9) and drill a 3.2Ø (0.125"Ø) hole in the shaft at the desired location.5 Install handle (9) with the two 6V1841 Machine Screws. Install inner handle (2) and the 5606 Pin. Put 6V888 Film on the outside of the door, near the handle.
If the latch has a lever (7), as shown in Step 2, make sure the lever is installed on the shaft. It is not necessary to install a pin [see Step 2, pin (6)] in the lever and the shaft.
