Measuring the depth of the grooves on the service brake discNote: In order to check a friction disc for wear, measure the disc thickness and measure the groove depth in the friction material. For reusability, the thickness of the friction disc must be at least 5.64 mm (0.222 inch). The minimum groove depth in a friction disc must be at least 0.32 mm (0.013 inch).
