(5) Input Shaft on the Transmission.The input transfer gear is connected to the input shaft from the torque converter. The input shaft from the torque converter is mounted on the case for the output transfer gear. The transfer gear transfers power to the transmission. The power is transferred at 1.4 times the speed of the torque converter.Power flow goes through yoke (1) to carrier (2) . The planetary gears of carrier (2) then transfer power and increased rpm to gear (4) . The internal splines of gear (4) transfers power to the splined input shaft (5) of the transmission.Port (3) provides lubrication to the internal moving parts of the input transfer gear. Lubrication oil comes from the torque converter charging section of the transmission pump which is mounted on the torque converter.
