Disassembly Shaft Seal
Important: Clean surface area around stationary seal assembly.
Figure 21. Use a No. 5 or No. 7 Tru-Arc snap ring pliers to remove snap ring.2. Insert 1/4" × 20 UNC bolt in hole of stationary seal assembly. Use bolt to pull stationary seal assembly from flange.3. Use a heavy wire-bent as shown-to grip O.D. of rotating seal (bronze). Then pull rotating seal from its seat. An o-ring may (may not) stick to rotating seal.4. Remove o-ring seal from rotating seal (bronze). 5. Position stationary seal assembly on rotating seal. Press stationary seal assembly down, then use a small screwdriver to carefully remove retaining o-ring from stationary seal assembly. Don't damage o-ring seat.
