Inspect the O-ring seals. Replace any seals that are worn or damaged.
Position an O-ring seal on the face of the steering differential.

Fasten a hoist with Tooling (A) to final drive (1). Adjust Tooling (A) in order to orient the final drive to a level position. Install final drive (1) in the machine. The final drive weighs approximately 625 kg (1375 lb).
Install two bolts (3) that hold the final drive to the steering differential and brake. Tighten the two bolts to a torque of 105 20 N m (75 15 lb ft).
Install 26 bolts (2) that hold the final drive to the frame. Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 650 50 N m (480 37 lb ft). Remove Tooling (A) .
Apply SAE 30W oil to the threads of the bolts for the sprocket segments. Install the bolts with the bolts with the washers against the final drive. Tighten the nuts to a torque of 300 50 N m (220 37 lb ft). Then, tighten the nuts by an additional 120 degree turn. Final torque is a minimum of 570 N m (420 lb ft).

Use Tooling (B) in order to install outer axle (4) in the final drive. Make sure that the thrust button between the inner axle and the outer axle is installed in the end of the outer axle.

Install retainer (6) in the sun gear.
Install O-ring seal (7) on cover (5). Install the cover on the final drive.
Several minutes are required to completely fill each final drive compartment with oil. The oil must flow through bearings to fill the inner compartment.Make certain the entire quantity of oil as specified on the Refill Capacity chart is added to the final drive.Operation of the machine with incorrect final drive oil level will cause final drive failure.
Orient drain plug (8) downward. Tighten the drain plug to a torque of 105 10 N m (75 7 lb ft).
