Control Valve Relief Adjustment
Relief Valve (In Vibratory Control Valve)
(1) Nut. (2) Adjusting screw. (3) Acorn nut.1. Perform System Pressure Test, located in this module. Leave the pressure gauge installed in the vibratory control valve.2. Remove acorn nut (3) from the relief valve.3. Loosen nut (1) while holding adjusting screw (2) to prevent it from turning.4. If the peak pressure was too high, turn the adjusting screw out (counter-clockwise).5. If the peak pressure was too low, turn the adjusting screw in (clockwise).6. Tighten nut (1) while holding adjusting screw (2) to prevent it from turning.7. Repeat System Pressure Test to check the new pressure setting.8. Repeat steps 1 through 7, if necessary, until the peak pressure is correct.9. Check nut (1). Tighten to 20 N (15 lb. ft.).10. Install acorn nut (3). Tighten to 20 N m (15 lb. ft.). If turning adjusting screw (2) has no effect on the peak pressure, check the cartridges in the cross-over relief valve.
