This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove beams (1). Disconnect rod assembly (3). Remove pin (2) from both sides. Remove pins (4) from both sides. Remove parking brake control assembly (5) and position parking brake control assembly (5) aside. Remove tube assemblies (9) from both sides.
Remove pin (6). Remove bolt (8) and lever (7) .

Remove bolts (10) from both sides.
Install two of bolts (10) to separate brake hydraulic control (11) from both sides.

Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to brake hydraulic control (11). The weight of brake hydraulic control (11) is approximately 43 kg (95 lb).

Attach a suitable lifting device to actuating mechanism (12). Remove actuating mechanism (12). The weight of actuating mechanism (12) is approximately 50 kg (110 lb).
