Information:
a. connection of steering frame lock link1. Park the machine on a flat, level surface. Put wood blocks in front of and behind the front tires to prevent the machine from moving. 2. Put tooling (A) in position under guard (2), and remove bolts (1) and (3) that fasten it to the machine. Remove the guard from the machine.
View From Under Machine3. Remove four bolts (4) that fasten the rear drive shaft to the rear differential yoke. 4. Disconnect brake line (5) from the tee above the rear differential.
The front support is free to fall off of the rear axle housing during removal of the rear axle housing and supports. To prevent personal injury, stay clear of the front support during removal of the rear axle housing and supports.
5. Use a piece of wire or chain, and secure the front support to the axle housing during removal of the rear axle housing and supports.6. Put a suitable floor jack in position under the rear axle housing to prevent it from rotating when the rear axle is rolled from under the machine.7. Remove the four bolts that fasten the rear support to the frame.8. Fasten a hoist to the rear lifting brakcets as shown. Raise the rear of the machine until the rear axle housing and supports can be rolled clear of the machine. 9. After the rear axle is removed, lower the rear frame onto tooling (B). 10. Put the rear axle housing in position on wood blocks. Fasten two nylon straps and a hoist to front support (6), and remove it from the axle housing. The weight of the front support is 32 kg (70 lb.). 11. Remove bolts (8), and remove retainer (7) from each side of the front support.12. Remove seals (10) from retainers (7).13. Remove two bearings (9) from the front support. 14. Put the rear axle housing in position on blocks with the rear support up or in the position shown.15. Fasten two nylon straps and a hoist to rear support (11).16. Remove bolts (12) and plate (13) from the axle housing.17. Remove outer washer (15) and seal (14) from the rear support. 18. Remove rear support (11) from the axle housing. The weight of the rear support is 41 kg (90 lb.).19. Remove inner washer (16) and seal (17) from the rear support. 20. Remove trunnion (18) and two bearings (19) from the rear support. The following steps are for installation of the rear axle housing and supports.21. Use tooling (C) to install bearings (9) and (19) in the front and rear supports.22. Lubricate all bearings and seals and trunnion (18) in the front and rear supports with 5P960 Multipurpose Grease. 23. Install the rear axle and supports in the reverse order of removal.24. Tighten bolts (12) that fasten the rear support and plate (13) to the axle housing as follows:a. Tighten bolts (12) in a clockwise sequence to a torque of 135 15 N m (100 11 lb.ft.).b. Tighten
