Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the work tools have been lowered to the ground, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement.Sudden movement of the machine can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.To prevent injury or death, make sure that the area around the machine is clear of personnel and obstructions before operating the machine.

Move the machine to level ground.
Leave the boom and/or the arch in the RAISE position.
Move the transmission direction switch to the NEUTRAL position.
Engage the parking brake.
Move the steering frame lock to the LOCKED position.

Block Manifold (1) Pressure tap
Attach an 198-4240 Digital Pressure Indicator to pressure tap (1) .
Run the engine at high idle. Move the boom to a stalled position. Check the pressure of the pressure reducing valve. Pressure should be 2760 70 kPa (400 10 psi).
Stop the engine.
Observe the pressure gauge. The pressure gauge initially reads 2415 205 kPa (350 30 psi). Proceed to Step 11. If the pressure is not within the above specified range, proceed to Step 10.
Move the grapple control lever in both directions until the pressure gauge reads zero. This will release the pressure in the system. Replace the accumulator.
Observe the pressure gauge while you lower the boom and/or the arch.
The pressure should decrease as the boom and/or the arch is lowered.
Lower the boom and/or the arch to the ground.
Move the grapple control lever in both directions until the pressure gauge reads zero.
Remove the gauge from the pressure tap.
Move the steering frame lock to the STORED position.
