Shift Status Mode Display (14) Left digit - front gear input (15) Center digit - other shift signals (16) Right digit - rear transmission gear switch Note: The dot at the end of the readout is provided for orientation. When viewing the readout, the dot must be in the lower right corner.Shift status mode (mode 2) is a troubleshooting aid used to determine the status of certain connector contacts (ESTC II inputs). Shift status mode shows the open/grounded status or active/inactive status or valid/invalid status of the transmission shifting circuits.ESTC II does not detect and diagnose all faults. Therefore, this mode is useful when tracing circuits and determining the status of the connector contacts. This service manual and the electrical system schematic are required materials for service personnel to use this mode properly.Readout (13) consists of three digits. Left digit (14) is dedicated to the front gear inputs from the EPTC II. Center digit (15) is dedicated to other shift inputs. Right digit (16) is dedicated to the rear transmission gear switch inputs. The segments of each digit are assigned to a contact of ESTC II connector A. See the Shift Status Mode Display illustration. The ON or OFF state of a segment tells the status of the corresponding connector contact.Note: The segments that correspond to unused inputs remain OFF.Note: The status indicators, as described in the Normal Mode section, also function in the shift status
