ACTION REQUIRED
Follow this procedure to update the EMCP3 with new software
1. Stop the Genset if it is running. Reference the appropriate documentation for this step.
2. Connect the Communication Adaptor to the Service Connector on EMCP Control Panel. (For electronic engines the Engine Control Must be powered down)
3. Use Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET), minimum 2006B version 1.0, to perform a Copy Configuration of the EMCP3 control.
4. Flash the appropriate new EMCP3 software. See TABLE 1 for EMCP3.2 and TABLE 2 for EMCP3.3
NOTE - Special cases:
i)If the Genset has Software part number 266-5553, please see Special Instructions REHS3671.
ii)If the Genset is an MUI engine the previous Software needs to be updated to Oct 2006 Software, and the sensor map number 2 needs to be programmed. Please see Special Instructions REHS3671.
5. Disconnect Service Connector. (Repower Engine Control on Electronic Engines)
