Start By:a. remove crankshaft rear sealb. remove oil pan1. Remove fuel filter bracket from the side of the flywheel housing. 2. Remove turbocharger drain line (1).3. Remove four nuts (2), four bolts (3) and two bolts found on the rear side of the flywheel housing. Remove bracket (4). 4. Fasten Tool (A) and a hoist to the flywheel housing.5. Remove bolts (8) and (9).6. Remove bolts (7). Remove covers (5). Remove one bolt from behind each cover (5).7. Fasten a hoist and remove the flywheel housing. The weight of the flywheel housing is 36 kg. (80 lb.).Install Flywheel Housing (Marine Engine)
1. Install a new gasket (1) on the cylinder block. Put the flywheel housing into position on the cylinder block.2. Put 9S3265 Retaining Compound on the bolts that hold the flywheel housing to the cylinder block. 3. Install the bolts that hold the flywheel housing to the block and tighten them in the sequence that follows:a. Tighten bolts 1 thru 8 in number sequence to 135 14 N m (100 10 lb ft).b. Tighten bolts 9 thru 17 in number sequence to 55 7 N m (40 5 lb ft).c. Again tighten bolts 1 thru 8 in number sequence to 135 14 N m (100 10 lb ft).d. Again tighten bolts 9 thru 17 in number sequence to 55 7 N m (40 5 lb ft).4. Cut the flywheel housing gasket even with the bottom of the cylinder block. See Flywheel Housing Runout and Flywheel Housing Bore for the correct methods of flywheel housing inspection. 5. Put bracket (3) into position on the flywheel housing. Install the four bolts.6. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on studs (5). Tighten the nuts to a torque of 25 4 N m (20 3 lb ft).7. Install the two bolts found on the rear side of the flywheel housing. Install covers (6).8. Install turbocharger drain line (7). Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on bolts (4).9.
