Use a suitable lifting device and Tooling (A) to support the machine.

Rotate the wheel. Measure the Total Free Play (X). Note: The Total Free Play of the arc along the circumference of the tire should be between 10 mm (0.39 inch) and 15 mm (0.6 inch). If the Total Free Play is between 10 mm (0.39 inch) and 15 mm (0.6 inch) the chain tension does not need further inspection. If the Total Free Play is not between 10 mm (0.39 inch) and 15 mm (0.6 inch), continue with the inspection.

Use a suitable lifting device to support the tire. Remove lug nuts (2). Remove tire (1). The weight of the tire is approximately 51 kg (113 lb). Remove bolts (3). Remove cover (4).

Loosen bolts (6).
Position Tooling (B).
Rotate Tooling (B) counterclockwise in order to tension the chain to the proper specification.

Ensure that chain (5) is taut below the sprockets when you are measuring the amount of movement in the chain.
The proper chain tension will be achieved when Dimension (B) is between 10 mm (0.39 inch) and 15 mm (0.6 inch). Dimension (B) is the total center movement of the chain.
If necessary, repeat the adjustment procedure for the drive chain on the other side of the machine.

Tighten the bolts for the axle housing in the order that is shown above to 160 15 N m (118 11 lb ft). Then turn the bolts turn an additional 60 5 degrees in the same order.
Remove Tooling (B).

Apply Tooling (C) in the bolt holes on the frame. Apply a 3.0 1.0 mm (0.10 0.04 inch) continuous bead of Tooling (C) to cover (4).
Position cover (4).
Install bolts (3).
Use a suitable lifting device to install tire (1). The weight of the tire is approximately 51 kg (113 lb). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Wheel Nuts - Tighten" for the procedure to tighten the lug nuts.
Use a suitable lifting device to support the machine and remove Tooling (A).
If necessary, repeat the adjustment procedure for the rear of the machine.
