To prevent personal injury while adjusting the winch control linkage, the cable must be disconnected and removed from the drum.
Do not adjust the linkage with the engine running.
1. Install rod assemblies (1), (2), (3), (4), and (12) to hand and bellcrank levers.2. Thread rod end (5) on rod (6) and thread rod ends (9) and (11) equally on rod (10).3. Position lever (7) in its "N" position. Move the hand control lever to position C. Assemble rod end (5) and rod (6) to lever (13) and lever (7).4. Position lever (8) in its "N" position. Assemble rod (10) to levers (8) and (14) maintaining an equal amount of thread engagement on rod ends (9) and (11).5. Move the hand control lever slowly from side to side while observing the linkage free play. Readjust rod end (5) if necessary to insure that the linkage free play is centered on the index mark. Dimension (17) must be equal to dimension (18).
