The sonic sensors will perform within the range of 13"-48" dependent upon the material height dial setting. When the sensors are out of range the conveyor auger system will revert to full speed but can be controlled with the auto/man/off switch.12. Check the sonic sensors for performance using the following procedure. The sensor should be positioned vertically approximately 18" above the floor. Start the engine, turn the conveyor auger system to the auto position, and adjust the material height dial until the system starts to run. Place a piece of cardboard under the sensor and slowly raise it toward the sensor, noting the speed of the conveyor and augers will slow. Adjust the material height dial with the cardboard in this position, the response of the system should be to increase or decrease as the material height dial is increased or decreased. The user is responsible for proper mounting of the sonic controls to reduce the risk of damage to the sensor and cable as the screed extension is moved in and out.
