Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
The engine can have the ability to auto start. Ensure that the power supply is isolated before any service or repairs is performed.
Turn the drain valve for the sea water circuit to the OFF position.

Drain the coolant from the cooling system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct procedure.
Remove plug (1) and plug (5) from heat exchanger (3). Remove washer (2) and washer (4) from plugs.

Loosen hose clamps (7). Remove tube assembly (6) from heat exchanger (3) and the water temperature regulator.
Loosen hose clamp (10), hose clamp (11) and hose clamp (13). Remove tube assembly (12) from the water pump inlet and heat exchanger (3).
Loosen hose clamps (8) and remove hose (9) from the heat exchanger and the aftercooler.
Loosen hose clamps (15) and disconnect hose (16) from heat exchanger (3).
Attach a suitable lifting device to heat exchanger (3). The weight of heat exchanger (3) is approximately 17 kg (38 lb).
Remove bolts (14) from heat exchanger (3). Note: The heat exchanger should be supported until the bolts have been removed.
Remove heat exchanger (3) from the mounting bracket.
