Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 55 10 N m (41 7 lb ft). Rotate yoke (1) by five full revolutions to fully seat the bearings. Position Tooling (A) as shown. Use a suitable pry bar to lift yoke (1). Use Tooling (A) to measure the backlash the shaft.
Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 55 10 N m (41 7 lb ft), then rotate yoke (1) by five full revolutions prior to every backlash measurement. Add or remove shims (4) to obtain a backlash of 0.03 to 0.08 mm (0.001 to 0.003 inch).
