The coolant flows through the many long tubes that are in the transmission oil cooler. After the coolant flows through the tubes, the coolant exits the cooler through opening (B). The coolant returns to the engine cylinder block. The engine coolant is then cooled by the cooling system of the engine.Transmission system oil with a high temperature comes from the torque converter outlet. This oil enters transmission oil cooler (1) at opening (D). The oil flows around the tubes inside the cooler. The heat is transfered from the oil to the coolant of the engine. The oil leaves the cooler at opening (C). The oil has a lower temperature. The colder oil then flows to the transmission for lubrication and cooling.
