789 Trucks, 994 LoadersThe Automatic Lubrication System on these models is controlled by a 7T3823 Control Group which is an electronic timer which actuates the air-powered lubrication system at certain intervals. Sometimes, the 7T3823 Control Groups are replaced unnecessarily. The following describes the function of 7T3823 Control Group.
The 7T3823 Control Group will wait 8 to 12 minutes after power is applied. Then it actuates the solenoid valve for 60 to 90 seconds. Thereafter, the control again energizes the solenoid valve once every 48 to 72 minutes. If the key switch is turned off, then back on again, the 8 to 12 minute delay will start again.
The purpose of the 8 to 12 minute delay is to avoid over-lubrication when the key switch is turned off and on frequently, such as during service work.
If the Automatic Lubrication System does not appear to work correctly, troubleshoot according to the procedure in "Service Manual for Automatic Lubrication System" SENR4724.
