The crankshaft seal and wear sleeve is an integrated unit. If the seal is separated from the wear sleeve during installation, oil will leak. Do not install a crankshaft seal and wear sleeve that has separated. Only install a crankshaft seal and wear sleeve that is intact.
Do not attempt to repair the crankshaft seal and wear sleeve if the seal is separated from the wear sleeve. Due to the directional grinding of the wear sleeve, the wear sleeve could be improperly mated with the seal. This will result in an oil leak.
