Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI31007" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number,"96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

MODELS INVOLVED - CERTAIN PETROLEUM 3512C ENGINES
Dear Caterpillar Product Owner:
Separate Circuit After Cooler Water Temperature Regulators (219-3306) regulate the temperature at too high a temperature range to allow proper emissions. The Water Temperature Regulators (219-3306) need to be replaced with new Water Temperature Regulators (6I-4952).
You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 24May2006 when scheduling this service.

REMOVAL/REINSTALLATION
Removal Procedures:

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during
performance of the removal and installation of the temperature regulators. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids
Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, ?Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide? for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.
Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.
Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

(1) Bolts, retainers, and retaining ring
(2) SCAC coolant tube
(3) Adapter
(4) SCAC coolant tube clamps
(5) Bolts
(6) Thermostatic Control Valve Group
(7) Seals (6V-1454)
(8) Temperature Regulators (219-3306)
1. Drain the cooling system until the level of the coolant is below the thermostatic control valve group. Collect all fluids in clean containers for use later.
