(1) Emulsion pump
(2) Relief valve
(3) Valve Emulsion pump (1) is located on the right front fender. This vane-type pump is driven by a gerotor motor. When emulsion pump (1) is operating, emulsion is drawn through the strainer assembly. The emulsion spray pump sends filtered emulsion through the flow transmitter and into the spray bar.Relief valve (2) limits the maximum pressure in the emulsion pump and subsystem. The relief valve is adjustable.Engine coolant is used to heat the case of emulsion pump (1) in order to prevent solidification of emulsion in the pump. Engine coolant is delivered to the case of the pump through heater hoses. Valve (3) controls the flow of engine coolant to the case of the emulsion pump. Note: Valve (3) should remain closed until the engine reaches operating temperature. When the engine is at operating temperature, the valve can be opened to allow coolant to flow through the emulsion spray pump housing.
