The 5P-8194 Retaining Ring (1) is breaking at the supplied slots during assembly/disassembly. This has several known occurrences but has not caused the transmission planetary group failure.The 5P-8194 Retaining Ring (1) has been improved with slots at the ends to aid assembly and disassembly. Any machine produced or field service parts ordered after 1October 2011 are suspected to have 5P-8194 Retaining Ring (1) failure at the slot ends.Solution
If pieces of the 5P-8194 Retaining Ring (1) are found in the suction screen, there is little or no risk to the transmission planetary group. The remaining piece of retaining is sufficient to support the reaction plate for clutch five. The broken pieces have a direct route available to the suction screen.
